Skin Care Routine Part 1: Face

Hey Dolls,

Not too long ago my skin became a lot harder to deal with than I was used to. My skin has always been clear (with the occasional pimple or two) but lately my skin has been feeling the stress. I started to get a lot of pimples in my oily T-zone. I had to act quickly and began my research.

I switched the products I had been using at the time and went back to some of the things I used to use. Here's the skin care routine I've been using for over a month which I have found has improved the look of my skin and overall breakout.
Simple Eye Make-up Remover $9.99

First I remove my make-up withSimple eye make-up remover. I have tried other make-up removers but this is the one I always find myself coming back to. It's oil free (leaves no oily residue) and gentle on the skin. It retails for $9.99 at Big W, Woolworths, Priceline, Kmart etc. The only downside to the product is the application. I prefer spray bottles so I transfer the product into a re-usable spray bottle.

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Face Wash $14.99

Next I use the Neutrogena face wash. It retails for $14.99 at Big W, Priceline etc. and is well worth the money. My T-zone has become acne prone and this has helped control breakouts.

Above is a picture showing the consistency of the Neutrogena face wash formula. It has small exfoliating beads which are gentle enough for your skin yet rough enough to give your skin a good exfoliating. It gives a minty sensation on your face with a soft cucumber scent (very mild scent).

Witch Hazel $ 6.59

Finally I tone my face with my new favourite product, Witch Hazel. I had seen many reviews about the product and just recently decided to try it out myself. I could not love this product more! It's reduced the size of my pores and controls blackhead breakouts! It does have a slightly unpleasant smell but this quickly goes away.

Beauty Care Co. Make-up remover pads $2 pack of 2 x 100

I use Simple make-up remover and Witch Hazel with the make-up remover pads pictured above. These are the cheapest pads I have found which work well and don't leave any fibres behind. They can be found at Kmart. It comes in a plastic bag (see above) containing two individually wrapped packs of 100 (in each wrapped pack) This means you get a total of 200 make-up remover pads for just $2!

Here is a picture of one of the individually wrapped packsyou get two of these!

Neutrogena Healthy Defence Daily Moisturiser SPF 30+ $13.95

I have oily skin so I rarely use face moisturiser, but when I do, this is the one I use. It's fragrance free with a formula perfect for sensitive skin. You can pick this up at Big W for $13.95.

Here you can see the consistency of the product. If I'm going to mositurise I prefer to use one with a thicker consistency otherwise I'll just look oilier. This has a medium consistency and reminds me of a thick sunscreen. It definitely does the job on my skin! And a bonus is you can use it on your entire body too!

Until next post,

PEACE, LOVE & LIPGL0SS! x

  1. Love the Simple line of products, I use their toner and it's the best I have ever tried!! Not as harsh as pure witch hazel but it does have witch hazel in it so it's great!
